The Bandanna Day Bike Ride is a non-competitive charity bicycle ride held to raise funds and awareness for the CanTeen organisation, a great community day out.
The event takes place on Bandanna Day each year (last Friday in October) and over $100,000 has been raised for CanTeen since the first ride in October 2000, an average of 100 riders participate each year.
Date – Friday 26th October, 2007 Registration – All riders must register by 20th October, 2007 – no entries accepted on the day Starting Point – Gather in Littleton Gardens, Bega from 8.00am. Start Time – Riders depart Bega at 9.00am Finish Time – The ride will conclude in Littleton Gardens at approximately 2.30pm
The Route
The 66km ride commences in Bega, passes through Kalaru, meanders along Sapphire Coast Drive to Merimbula before returning to Bega via the Princes Highway. Click here for route map
Individual or Team
You can ride the entire route on your own or you may like to get a team together and share the riding as a team relay, remember this is not a race just a great day out with the community and it’s all about participation and fun.
Fundraising
This year the fundraising part of the event has been simplified, all riders are required to sell a minimum $50.00 worth of raffle tickets to participate in the event. The raffle tickets will sell for $5.00 each and the prize will be a fantastic 4 night Fiji Holday Package, more information on the major prize can be found at Hamilton Island Holiday Prize
