Conditions of Entry - Schools

  • There will be a maximum limit of 15 students per school allowed to participate in the event.The minimum age to participate is 13 years old at time of event, any younger participants will only be accepted at the discretion of event organiser.
  • The school must provide supervision for their students, either as riders or in support vehicles.
  • Team riders are to provide their own support vehicle and driver to transport resting riders and bikes.
  • All support vehicle drivers will be required to attend pre ride safety briefing to be held at 8.30am on the day of the ride.
  • All drivers of support vehicles are to take direction from event organisers and their support volunteers at all times.
  • Support vehicles must not be driven by students.
  • The Entry Form and Disclaimer must be completed and handed in before the 20th October 2006.  Disclaimer is to be signed by a parent/guardian if rider is under 18 years of age.  No late registrations will be accepted on the day.
  • All riders must sell a minimum of $50.00 worth of raffle tickets per person to be eligible to participate in the ride.
  • All sold and unsold raffle ticket butts and funds to be returned no later than the morning of the event.
  • Schools are to take responsibility for collecting student’s sold and unsold raffle ticket butts and funds prior to the start of the event.
  • All cheques are to be made out to “CanTeen”.
  • 100% of money raised goes directly to CanTeen.
  • Rider’s bike must be in good roadworthy condition and will be subject to a pre-ride inspection.  It is at the discretion of ride officials if the bicycle passes inspection, and therefore may enter the ride.
  • Appropriate clothing should be worn as well as an Australian Safety Standards Approved Helmet.
  • Riders must be of good physical fitness and have adequate road cycling experience and ability. Students must attend at least one Saturday training ride to qualify for the bike ride.
  • Students must take direction from designated supervisors, a person may be removed from the ride at the discretion of the ride officials.
  • All riders must comply with all road laws and take direction from the designated event officials on the day, a person may be removed from the ride at the discretion of the ride officials.
  • Participants understand that they may be photographed or filmed on this event and that this footage may be used for future promotional needs. Participants agree to the creation and use of such footage for future Bandanna Day Bike Ride promotions and publicity.
